Ely Museum welcomes visits from paranormal investigation groups.

Ely Museum is situated in The Old Gaol building, which has a long, fascinating and gruesome history including over a century as the Bishop’s Gaol. The Gaol was a grim and unpleasant place to be imprisoned with prisoners chained to the walls to stop them escaping through the badly maintained walls which let in the rain and the howling wind. The building has also been a private house, an inn, a tenement building, an office and a Victorian museum.
