Events and Communications Assistant

The Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic person, with experience of customer service as well as planning and delivering events, to join our small and dedicated team. You will work to improve the earned income and public engagement at Ely Museum, through the delivery of events and activities as well as regular work on the museum welcome desk.

This role is a great chance to join the team at a thriving museum and will suit a creative person who is inspired by museum collections and understands the needs of different audiences.  There is great scope for the right candidate to learn and develop within this role.

About You

With an interest in heritage and museums, you’ll be an excellent communicator who enjoys developing and delivering events. A great team player, with the willingness to learn and who enjoys working with different audiences.

Please note, only the essential criteria of the person specification need to be met.

Hours: 12.5 hours per week. Saturday 10am – 5.15pm and Sundays 11.30am – 5.15pm.  Will include occasional evening working.

Contract: Fixed term until 25th September 2027.

Salary: £25,799 pa pro rata (£13.23 per hour).

 

Collections and Communications Assistant. 

The Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic person, with experience of customer service as well as working with museum collections, to join our small and dedicated team. You will work to support the care, management and interpretation of the museum’s collections, while also creating content to share information about the collections. You will be contributing to visitor services and income generation through regular work on the museum reception desk.

This role is a great chance to join the team at a thriving museum and will suit a creative person who is inspired by museum collections and can communicate their passion.  There is great scope for the right candidate to learn and develop within this role.

About You

With an interest in museum collections, you’ll be an excellent communicator who enjoys working with the public. A great team player, with the willingness to learn and who enjoys a variety of museum work.

Please note, only the essential criteria of the person specification need to be met.

Hours: 13.25 hours per week. One weekday (Tues- Thurs) 9am – 5pm and Sundays 11.30am – 5.15pm.  May include occasional evening working.

Contract: Fixed term until 25th September 2027.

Salary: £25,799 pa pro rata (£13.23 per hour).
