Overview:

During the morning’s role play session think about the effects of evacuation on both the evacuees and the local children during this lively and moving look at the time.  Take on the persona of a real evacuee to Ely and learn about their life.

In the afternoon you will rotate around three activities: Rationing, Make Do and Mend, and Wartime Toys/Children’s Occupations.  The day is staffed by our costumed education team and there are plenty of opportunities to handle objects throughout the day.  Why not come in 1940s dress yourself?
