Overview:

Discover the significant events that took place in Britannia during the Roman reign.  Find out about life as a Roman Soldier handling armour, trying on a Galea (helmet), hiding behind a Roman shield and holding a Gladius (sword), discover for yourself how heavy the armour was and how strong the soldiers must have been with the opportunity to dress up as a soldier! The discover, through a series of workshops, how the Romans kept themselves clean and what it was really like to go to a Roman Bath, what they ate and how strong their stomachs must have been and what life was like for them at home. With every workshop enabling the children to handle replica and some ancient objects. This workshop really does bring the Roman Empire to life.

This half day workshop can be extended for a full day to include and afternoon exploring our Roman displays, finding out about Education during the Roman rule and making your own lucky votive to take home with you.
