Overview:

The Littleport Riots is a significant local historical event that shaped the lives of those that lived in the area. In this exciting workshop, the year is 1816, the riots have taken place and those that were arrested are in the Court House. Taking part in a reenactment at the Georgian Courtroom of the hearing, listening to the magistrate and joining in with the trial, children will decide if the outcomes were justified.

In the afternoon they divide into groups to complete a rotation of activities, looking at replicas of original documents, thinking about gaol conditions, and finding out about crime and punishment in the past.
