Overview:

What was it like to live in The Fens 200 years ago? How has the landscape changed? What did we wear? What jobs did we do? How did we travel in this unique landscape?

Using our huge range of handling objects, children will discover what it was like to live here in The Fens  in the past. From meeting the Wise Woman and her many interesting and sometimes disgusting remedies and cures to learning about farming here in the past using specialised tools, tyring on the clothes that both adults and children would have worn out in the fields to looking at local plants and their medicinal properties, the children leave with a real understanding of life in the Fens.

Our Fenland session can either be a full or half day workshop, for our Upper KS2 pupils an option for a drainage debate can also be added.
