A workshop with Nadine Anderson, back by popular demand!
Spend 3 slow mindful hours weaving a small fine Rush basket on or off a mould. A simple check or spider start base will then travel vertically to form a small round or square basket. Pairing and waling weaves will create a beautiful pattern and texture, with a simple border forming the top lip of the basket.
Local Master Basketmaker Nadine Anderson provides all materials, tools, and moulds. She will impart some of the history of Rush weaving and give a brief overview of how the Rush is grown, harvested, stored, and prepared for weaving and will have examples of her work for students to handle.
Workshop includes tea and cake.
