Inspired by Nature workshops

For Families 10.30am – 12.30pm

Handle museum objects, enjoy traditional fenland music and respond creatively using a range of exciting mark-making materials to make your own original artworks! Get creative with learning team and volunteers, no previous art experience needed!

This drop-in is part of the Inspired by Nature project, funded the National Lottery Heritage fund in partnership with Wicken Fen, RNIB and Babylon ARTS to develop creative approaches that facilitate connection and engagement with fenland landscape and heritage.

Activities are for all but most suitable for children between 3 and 11 years. Children must be accompanied throughout – we encourage parents/carers to create alongside their child. If the drop-in is busy, you can still get creative by picking up some of our free art activities in the museum.

This workshop is free with the purchase of museum entry (£5.50 Adult/£12 Family – tickets then provide entry for a year from purchase). If you already have annual membership, have your ticket ready on arrival.

and for Adults 1.30pm – 3pm

Join artists from Babylon’s Young Associates programme for free mark-making activities inspired by handling objects from Ely Museum. Handle and learn about the history and heritage of fenland objects, and then create your own artworks using a range of beautiful materials. All abilities welcomed, and no experience necessary.
