Today is the second annual #CelebrateTheFens day, organised by Fascinating Fens!

#CelebrateTheFens day is a great way for people across the fens to showcase our unique landscapes, heritage and nature through events, activities and tours. Lots of organisations, both big and small, are taking part & you can also follow along online by following the hashtag too

Ely Museum is taking part again this year too!

The Felons Yard, formerly where prisoners of Ely Gaol were exercised, has now been turned into a beautiful fen garden, filled with local plants and vegetables!

It is a beautiful place to sit outside and enjoy whilst also celebrating the fens!

Finally, the museum celebrates the people of the fens.  From the earliest settlers in our region to modern day celebrations, Ely Museum shows how the landscape has influenced people and how people have influenced the landscape!

As we #CelebrateTheFens this weekend, we’ve also got a free fen-themed trail for you to enjoy! This special trail explores the history and landscape of our region & there is the opportunity to draw and share your own fenland scene! Remember to include lots of ‘fentastic’ features like rivers, plants, animals and the landscape and share your image using #CelebrateTheFens

Download a copy of the quiz below or pick up a FREE copy from Ely Museum to enjoy as you visit the galleries!
