Make a Pick and Mix Straw Fascinator

Join Susan Widlake of Mill House Millinery to design and create your very own fascinator.

Have you ever looked at a fascinator in a shop and thought I quite like this, but fancy it in a different colour?

Or perhaps you’ve wanted to take an element from one piece, and add it to another?

Or perhaps you’ve just wondered ‘how do they make that’?

If any of those strike a chord with you, why not come and learn how to mix and match and make your own fascinator?

Over the course of 2 ½ hours you will be guided through making your own fascinator. Susan will teach you how to make three different shapes: a curl, a twist and a flower. Then you can combine them to create something unique to you.

Before you start your own creation, you’ll be able to try on some examples, so you can pick out what suits you.
Do you like clean simple lines in one colour, or a more freeform mix and riot of colour? Do you prefer twists , curls and curves or angles and lines ?

Do you know which is your ‘best side’ to wear your fascinator ? (Most fascinators on the high street are designed to be worn on the right)

Basic sewing skills are required, but if you might struggle, don’t worry, Susan can help!

We advise this workshop is aimed at those aged 16 and over.
