Summer Exhibition- Animals in Archaeology
30th June 2018 - 30th September 2018
The exhibition features alongside some of the brilliant objects from our own collection here at Ely Museum, some amazing objects from the collections at the Museum of Archaeology & Anthropology in Cambridge too. There’s lots of great objects to see from coins & urns to animal shaped palettes and even a mummified Egyptian bird!
Come along and learn more about the animals that roamed the ancient fens from the tusks and bones they left behind & imagine what life as an Anglo Saxon or Roman person might be like by seeing the objects they used & decorated with animals too
This family-friendly exhibition is great for all ages and entry is included with your normal admission ticket! Don’t forget to bring along your annual pass for FREE entry to the museum all year, or remember to pick one up for unlimited re-entry to the museum following your visit. Remember, accompanied children are just £1 with under 5s free!
Pick up an activity booklet to enjoy on your visit as well – explore the building with a trail to find the secret word & have fun designing your own creatures & coins inspired by the animals you see!
